A prolific hit maker here in his native
Ireland, Red has spent an impressive total of 140 weeks on the Irish charts.
During the last year he has recorded with various choirs in Ireland, Africa and the U.S. for the album ‘How
Great Thou Art’ which was initially planned as an American-only release. However due to the phenomenal
response to Terry Wogan’s playing the CD, the record company scheduled a U.K. release of the album and title
track in November last.
Red with his
rich powerful voice has been compared to many successful contemporary artists but ‘How Great Thou Art’
highlights Red’s breathtaking, individual performance perfectly. Without a doubt
a song of inspiration and unquestionably a song of peace and reassuring solace, ‘How Great Thou Art’ is but
one example of the treats that are to be found on this new album.
As 2010 progresses, Red will continue to entertain his large fan base around the world through his live shows
and media appearances.
Red is currently
working with Dr. Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey’s mentor on a new joint DVD and C.D. for release in the U.S. in
March and has recently performed in the renowned Riverside Church in New York, where The Harlem Gospel Choir
were his special Guests.
Dr Maya Angelou said, when speaking of Red
Art makes us human and true art can make us truer to who we
can be as human beings. The song, the poem, the dance, the painting may be beautiful but they truly move us
only if they express emotional truths. The human voice is the most expressive instrument known to man it can
evoke an enormous amount of emotion. These songs of Red have moved me
greatly.
“He sings to me, down in my soul”
- Dr. Maya Angelou.
